Wife's Debt

What is the name of your state?NC
My wife had a repossesion of a vehichle 15 years ago( 5 years before we ever met.) She has been sending in the exemption papers for the last several years as they come in. She forgot to fill out and send in the last one so today she got a payment of execution request. It states that they can seize some of her properties to satisfy this debt. Can they seize any of my stuff or is only her stuff in danger? The debt was incurred before we met and is in her maiden name.

She needs to file those exemptions IMMEDIATELY ! They cannot take anything that is not HERS. NC is not a community property state, they can't touch your things.

How long ago did they get the judgment against her ?

Wife's Debt

The repo occured in Oct. of 1989, the date of judgement was 10/09/2000. We've had a lot going on recently and this exemption filing slipped by. I know that it's our fault for letting it get by ,but I don't know what to do about it now.
