Hi there,
I'm working on my answer to a summons from a collector and was wondering what this meant exactly. This is under one of their claims and I didn't know how to answer it.

"Plaintiff states that it should recover against the Defendant on the basis of quantum merit and/or quasi-contract in that Plaintiff is not yet compensated for goods and/or services received by the Defendant."

The Latin phrase is, "Quantum Maruit", or the "reasonable value" of products or services within the community.

Exactly .. lawyer-speak for 'the creditor hasn't been paid for what you bought'..
