Can LTD insurance specify a treatment plan?

What is the name of your state? Alabama

Can your LTD plan (Aetna) require you to pursue a different treatment plan and make you change doctors in order to continue receiving benefits?

The question relates to someone who has been on ltd for five yrs for major depression and ptsd and sees a psychologist as opposed to a psychiatrist.

A: Yes; this is called The Golden Rule. He who has the gold makes the rules.

So the 2003 class action lawsuit that aetna lost (470 million) for overriding doctors treatment decisions does not apply?
