What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin
I am currently on SS and long term disability through an insurance co. I was offered a settlement from the insurance co. for about 1/2 of what I would receive til I'm 65. I am 53 right now. There is a possibility that sometime in the future I may be able to return to work. What are the tax ramifications if I accept the settlement, if I decline now will the insurance co. counter offer? I am not sure what is the best decision at this point. I will also lose my benefits from my employer and cease employment with them. Help:confused:What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
