2nd marriage in a different state without divorce from previous one completed

i was married first in new york and there was no assets and no children involved. now, i want to get married in new jersey with someone else. Do i have to be divorced from the first marriage before? or can i get married without any problem ?or can i get married once the divorce process start?

Sure. You can get married before your previous marriage ends in divorce, if you don't mind being prosecuted for bigamy and opening yourself up to a host of other problems.

Do the right thing and get your divorce finalized and THEN get married to the new person.
