I'm in Illinois, okay divorce went to trial sept 6th, judge ruled, husband has 30 days to buy me out, my attorney gave his attorney the typed divorce papers for him to sign, my husband and I and the judge signed papers sept 6th, divorce decree still at husbands attorney's and not filed so not legally divorced yet. Husband is now saying he didn't agree to what the judge ordered or didn't understand, but the settlement was read by attorney's in front of Judge and my husband and I. Okay, how long can his attorney sit on these papers without filing them? The Judge said 30 days to buy me out and then house goes on market, 30 days from when?? It's going to 60 days, and if he hasnt' filed them yet his 30 hasn't even started. Can my husband go back and change my settlement? He had the affair, he filed and now I just want to go on with my life. I have called my attorney and of course he hasn't an answer, plus doesn't want to run my attorney fees up even higher. Can anyone help me?? Husband believes his 30 days doesn't start until papers are filed. In meantime no child support, no maintance is being paid. He is having trouble getting a loan and is dragging his feet and trying to get things changed now that he is having trouble obtainin loan. arghhhh help!!
