Question

Abandonment

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY
I want to get a divorce for my husband, but the locked me out of our home. Can I divorce for abandonment? Please help. I will like to move on from this man.

How long ago did this happen.

Legally he cannot lock you out of the marital home.

Have you seen an attorney?

He can't lock you out of your home. Call a locksmith to let you back in if you need back in to get your stuff, or if you want back in to live there until you can get things more formally handled.
