Question

Abuse

What is the name of your state? Il

Me and my children are victims of verbal, emotional, and pysical abuse. I am seeking into getting a divorce, but not sure how to get started,or even afford one. My question is for a person who is a stay at home mother ,who is not working be able to afford a attorney. Are there ways for me to ask the courts or a lawyer for my husband to pay for this since he is the only one working?

yes you can ask, but honestly, no attorney is going to take your case based on the idea that he might be paid, by someone else, someday. You need to look into legal aid, or find an attorney who is willing to represent you pro bono. Check with abuse shelters in your city, they have good resources for legal aid.

you are welcome. Seriously, get some help, get out of a situation that is bad and will only get worse. You and your children deserve a life that is free from any type of abuse.

I wish you the best of luck.
