Adultery

What is the name of your state? NY

My wife is filing divorce papers and I have found out that she is having an affair. I know NY divides property equitably in a divorce, but does the fact that she is cheating on me have anything to do with how the property is divided? Thanks

If you file for a "fault" divorce, its possible, not guaranteed but possible, that it could have somewhat of an effect on the property settlement. However, in order to file for a
"fault" divorce, you have to be able to prove she is having the affair with hard, cold, evidence.
