Alienation of affection

What is the name of your state? NC

I may be sued for alienation of affection. Should I get a lawyer? I have been told that because I have few assets, it would be unlikely that I will be sued. Do I have any recourse? What is the name of your state?

Will you PLEASE get back on your medication?

You need to give a bit more to go on. Like, WHY would you be sued and by WHOM?

NC is one of the few states that still permit alienation of affection suits - and often it has little to do with the money the plaintiff can get. It's usually all about revenge. I would start with breaking things off with your lover, and then speaking with an attorney to find out how best to protect yourself. It's not likely to be pretty.

And well.... next time - choose an unmarried lover.
