Am I Entitled to half of business property, etc.

What is the name of your state? Rhode Island,

My husband and I have been married for 10 years, but are seeking divorce, he keeps telling me that I am not entitled to his any of his business, he owns a restaurant, his name is on the deed to the business and property, but he Incorporated the business. Am I entitled to half of the equity, or sales, etc.
Please Help Me! I don't know what to do.

You should only be entitled to share half the DEBTS and assets that ACCRUED during the marriage. For example, if he owned a house with equity of $200,000 when you married him, and now there's equity of $500,000, you may be entitled to equity of $150,000 (half of the accrual during the marriage) NOT half the entire equity. I've been married about ten years myself, and all the retirement funds, assets, and real estate I owned BEFORE my marriage is seperate property, as I have not comingled any marital assets into them.
