Annulment after divorce

What is the name of your state? i live in california. my question is: i was married in 1989 and divorced in 1998. this year i have reason to believe that my ex-husband was married to someone else while married to me. i cannot prove this, without searching the entire united states marriage files,he traveled often and could have a wife or several anywhere. he would not tell me the truth about this and i don't even know where he is. if i were to get an annulment, i would have to do this on my own because he would be unaccesible. i am a christian and go to a church that will not re-marry me to anyone else if i am divorced. i would like to pursue an annulment. please help me.

You have to appeal to the church that you were maried in and find out the procedure for an annulment. It would be nice if there was one way to have a marriage anulled but uinfortunately it depends upon the church.

My response:

Are you talking about wanting an annulment through the courts, or through the church?
