appear in court for divorce??

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon-My husband is previously divorced-he says he filed, not his ex. I have never seen his decree, but from what he says it was a California divorce. His ex had lived in Cal. for 2yr prior to his filing for divorce, he lived in Oregon at time filed, and when divorce became final.
If it was Cal. divorce could he have filed if he lived in anouther state-would his ex's redency have been enough? Also since they lived in different states would one of them have had to travel to state where divorce occured,or could a divorce become final w/out one party physicly being there?
Apparently neither one traveled to appear in court. They have 1 child and had joint assessts/debts.
At about 1 month b-4 divorce became final he misteriously disapeared for about 4 days it was very strange-don't know if it's connected at all.
When I met him he said he was already divorced, and first told me he wasn't when he came back from whereever he had disapeared to.

If you can't get an honest answer from him, then you have a problem that no one here can solve for you.
