Bigomy - Not sure what to do

I was supposedly married in Iowa in 1999! Found out this last September that he was not legally divorced in Minnesota from his past wife till 6 months after our supposed marriage.
I have used his name and am not sure where or what I have to do from here. Is there anything I have to legally do?
Any info would be appreciated. He is no longer in the home - and I am trying to raise the children I have on a limited income.
