Break Up: Claiming Belongings

What is the name of your state? TEXAS

My girlfriend and I recently got into a bad argument that ended up in a break up.

Thing is, I gave her an engagement ring that is worth about $300 and a jersey (my favorite one) that is worth about $75.

I'm trying not to make this ugly, but ontop of that, I have also spent hundreds of dollars in airfare (she lives in another state, long distance relationships are now out of the question for me)

I don't care about the airfare, but I do want that ring and jersey back, among some other little keepsakes... is she legally bound to give me my stuff back, or am I really going to have to get into a legal battle for it?

Do you realize that the ring has very little resale value? You would be lucky to get 20% of what you paid for it.

Yes, you would have to take her to small claims court. You would have to do it in her state. Your trip to court would probably cost you significantly more than the value of the items she has.

My response:

Do you understand the significance of the word "give"?
