Question

Buying a house while divorced is pending

I live in California. I filed for divorce and it will be final in January. I am going to sign a quit claim deed to my husband for the house we own together now. He has paid me for my half. I am trying to buy a house on my own. It is an FHA loan. Will they accept a notarized copy of the property settlement agreement (as it can't be filed until the end of the six months)? Or can my husband sign a quit claim deed on my new property? If he does this, do his debts come into play on the loan app????? Help.....I need an answer ASAP. Thanks************** My little dream cottage is waiting**************

This is a common question.

The mortgage lender will have a handy dandy little form that it can give you to get his signature.

Ask for this form, get his signature, and you're on your way.
