Can I change locks and can I drop him from my insurance?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA
Married 15 months (my 2nd time) and hubby still has not even put his place up for sale (needs alot of TLC) and has not helped me pay any of my bills (he lives here and his 10 year old is with us 50%...his place is vacant) saying he has no $$. I took out loan early on to help him (he as not paid me back -- I am a sect'y) as he was way behind on house and vehicle payments (unknown before we married) and now feel like I will always be supporting him. My place (owned for 7 yrs) is only in my name. Can I legally change the locks? Also, he is self employed, so I added him to my insurance through work (add'l $400/mth to add him, which he does not pay me back for). If I drop him from my insurance, am I at all responsible for any medical bills he may incur?

He gets annoyed that I cannot accomodate most of his furniture (small townhouse) but I'm not getting rid of any more until I get some monetary help.

If you'd do a quick search before asking the question, you'd have your answer.

You're free to change the locks, but he's free to change them back - and not give you a key. It's a marital home and he has as much right to be there as you do - whether you like it or not.

If you cancel the medical insurance, you will become jointly responsible for any medical expenses.

See an attorney before doing anything stupid.

marital residence?

Is it still considered a marital residence if we each have (and have had for years before knowing each other) our own residences in our own names? He paid NOTHING towards this place and pays none of the bills.....he has his house in his name only and I did make 3 mortgage payments but his other bills are just climbing.

I thought I couldn't change locks if he was on the mortgage or title...he has neither.

Location: I don't know. The guys with the keys won't say. I think it's top secret info.

You're wrong. That is now his residence. You cannot simply just lock him out.

this sounds like a marriage made in Hell. You didn;t know much about him. You are now "surprised" to see how he acts.

why not just get it over with now and file for divorce before we start answering questions about homicide?

None of that matters. He is married to you, so it is his residence, as well.

If you don't want to listen to the advice you receive, why bother asking?
