My husband and I have decided to seperate. Can we file the seperation papers ourselves? Do we have to have an attorney? Do you have to seperate before you can divorce?

No, you do not have to have an attorney. One has a right to represent themselves. You are, however, expected to know the law both substantive and procedural. Click onto "state resources" on the gold bar at the top of page and start your research.
