Can I get an anullment?

I'm from Michigan, I'm doing this for my best friend b/c she is in the middle of a TERRIBLE divorce. My friend and her husband were married Aug. 4th of 2001 (a little over 8 months ago) the last few months he has really been mentally abusive (not physical) He's cheated on her, stolen her money and just made her life one big mess. I was wondering what the laws are in Michigan and would and anullment be easier then a divorce? Or would a divorce be better?
