Question

Can I get divorced before finalizing details?

What is the name of your state? New York

I am in the middle of a very nasty yet uncomplicated divorce. However, my soon to be ex husband is causing problems, and I want my divorce ASAP.
Anyway, my question is does Richmond County Supreme Court in Staten Island New York issue a divorce even though child custody, child support and other misc issues have not been finalized? I am returning to court next week and would appreciate a quick repsponce. Thank you!

Maybe future hubby # 2 is waiting in the wings, and OP is itching to make the same mistake again

Maybe...Just found her choice of wording very odd...I know, for me, that would be a major thing..I mean...their your kids! ...Maybe she just used the wrong words...(we need a hopeful little face icon...)

OP: You might as well take care of things NOW instead of LATER.

In the end...EVERYTHING will have to be dealt with. Save yourself the time and aggravation.
