NORTH CAROLINA - I've been subpeonaed to appear at a deposition regarding an exgirlfriend. She and her ex are battling over alimony in which I am considered a cohabitator.
The subpoena ask for the most personal information one would only provide to get a mortgage. Certainly nothing pertinent to a relationship one would have with a person. ie. bank statements, insurances, pay stubs, etc.
Can I quash it? I called the clerk of court and she had no idea what I was talking about.
Also, I live in SC (within 50 miles of the court), I was subpoenaed in NC while visiting a friend. Do I have any relief?
All courtesies extended.... Thanks
