Can someone please tell me what this means??!

What is the name of your state? TN

While looking at my Husband's Summons for divorce papers (his and ex-wifes) I saw the following under grounds for divorce:

The Husband has been guilty of such conduct as renders continued cohabitation inappropriate. Tennessee Code Annotated SS36-4-101(11).

^Is this normal?!?! Have I married a freak?!

Also, on the first page, it says "Restraining Order", but it doesn't look like a RO nor does he admit to it actually being one. Is it just a play on words?

General: (1) Impotence; (2) adultery; (3) conviction of a felony and imprisonment; (4) alcoholism and/or drug addiction; (5) wife is pregnant by another at the time of marriage without husband's knowledge; (6) willful desertion for 1 year; (7) bigamy; (8) endangering the life of the spouse; (9) conviction of an infamous crime; (10) refusing to move to Tennessee with a spouse and willfully absenting oneself from a new residence for 2 years; (11) cruel and inhuman treatment or unsafe and improper marital conduct; (12) indignities that make the spouse's life intolerable; and (13) abandonment, neglect, or banning the spouse from the home. [ Tennessee Code Annotated; Volume 6A, Title 36, Section 36-4-101].

Just my opinion, but I bet it's a restraining order.

He was visiting their daughter at her house, so it couldn't have really been a restraining order.

So this code, does it just imply that he was a crappy husband? Or is this some type of frequently used/catch-all code.

In Tennessee there are several reasons a couple can get a divorce. Why your husband's divorce papers stated, "cruel and inhuman treatment or unsafe and improper marital conduct", would indicate someone in the marriage did something to fit the reason that was given. (Maybe it was his ex.) Who filed for the divorce?

If a RO was issued, but he went to see the daughter and everything went fine, only indicates that nobody called the police to say one of them was violating the RO. (Like I said maybe it was against the wife.) Your husband should know what reason the marriage was dissolved over and if there was a RO.

In a fault state those grounds would be a catch all and RO are often a part of a divorce to prevent either party from doing things to undermine the process. NO man is perfect especially a divorced man, you knew that going in didn't you?
