What is the name of your state?Wisconsin

I have a friend who is currently going through a divorce. Her husband is a severe control freak. He is now saying he will take a job far away from her family, and very near his own family. This is an obvious ploy, intended to put her even further under his thumb, and remove what little support system she has left.

My question then is this: Is there any way she can prevent this?

Why does that put her under his thumb? They're getting divorced. He moves, she doesn't have to.

Agreed. He moves into a place where he's moving, she one in her town, or buys him out and stays in the house. As Stealth reminded, they are already getting divorced, so having seperate households is a given.

And to add....if there are children involved he can't just take them with him either....even if he were to be awarded custody. He would need permission from either her or the courts.

Yes, there are children involved. He apparently believes he can force both her and the children to move with him. I see now that this is not the case, and have been told elsewhere that a temporary custody order should have been issued, stating that the children are not to be removed from the state.

I think this answers my question then. Thanks to everyone.
