can you require your ex to revert back to maiden name?

I am from Massachusetts but was wondering if you can require in your divorce papers that your soon to be ex has to change their name back to their maiden name. Is there any state that allows this?

Be careful, you can't do squat about her name.

Of course, you sound like a prick, so if I were here, I'd keep not only my last name, but I'd change my first and middle names as well to match yours.

Thumbs down

Why don't you just change YOUR last name. Then you can experience the "joys" of changing all your personal info. I'm serious, because that's exactly what my ex-husband did - and we have children! My kids are still pissed at their father.

NO state compels a woman to change her married name back to her maiden name.
