Can't find herWhat is the name of your state? Texas This is for a friend...he hasn't seen his wife since December '99 when their only son got married. She called him in July of 2001 asking for him to pay 1/2 the divorce which she was filing for in Oklahoma. He never received any papers or information. He has not heard from her since and doesn't know where she is. He is trying to find out from the county (where he sent the divorce money) if she actually did file. (he seriously doubts that she did) He is interested in do it yourself divorce but can't find her...what are his options? |

| No, the son doesn't want to know and the only family she has left are 2 dead beat brothers who have scattered like flies. |

| Texas He says he has written to the court clerk of the county in OK where he sent the divorce money and is waiting to hear from them. If he is not divorced and has to serve her via publication, what are the laws on that? Years ago I heard it's three different newpaper ads to be run for 30 days. Is that the case and what does the ad say? Is it possible to do-it-yourself in a situation like this or would it be wise to use a lawyer? |
