What happens when the "other side" doesnt show up to a court ordered case mgt. hearing session?

This recently happened and the judge just seemed to excuse it and reschedule the hearing for the following week. How is that fair?What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Unless the non appearing party had a valid reason for not showing up, you're right, it's not really fair.

However, it's very typical for a Judge to just reschedule, so try to be patient. If the other party does not show up next time, you can file a motion for contempt, asking that a hearing date be set.
