legally seperated/legally divorced

i am married by "common law" in the state of colorado. we have no property and one child which we have already made legal arrangements. my "husband" and i have been seperated(not legally)for 5 months.he doesn't want a divorce because "if he can't have me no one can". i heard that if i am legally seperated for six months, the state will automatically file it as a divorce. is this true? is there any other way i can get divorced without spending my life savings?

what is it with you dopey women...common law is just that.

Did you present yourselves as man and wife? Did you take his last name and had all your bank accounts checking savings drivers license, insurance, wills, everything in his last name...did you buy a house a car a boat as mr and mrs.....

then you are probably common law married

If not then you are 2 single people sharing the bills and can leave PRONTO!

I would take that as a threat on your life and get the heck out fast while you can and dont let him find you... to me that sounds like a homicidal statement...
