Community and Separate Property

Hawaii

Question: a friend of mine was married in Hawaii while on vacation - they live in California - if she were to get divorced, are the California laws applicable as far as community and joint property? Or are Hawaii laws the same as California, does anyone know?

The laws where she is a resident are applicable.
