My mom is currently going through a divorce since January. No children involved ,and not alot of property/assets to be divided. Court hearing has been changed several times and she was just informed yesterday, that her upcoming hearing at end of september, will likely be changed again because the defendants attorney might be out of town? How can they do this?
Can they keep changing the dates? wouldnt they need approval from our attorney or something?

thanks

They only need approval from the judge-and approval is routinely granted.

Now, if it becomes really excessive (like one date change a month for a year), the court might refuse additional changes, but that's rare.
