California.
My husband has a gamble problem. My counselor told me to submit a form so that any debts he'll make are no longer my responsibility. I already have $18,000.00 in debts in my name
What form is she talking about and what consequences does it have for my marriage?

My response:

Where were the gambling debts incurred ?

I have no idea what kind of "form" your counselor is talking about - - perhaps you can call the counselor for specifics, because I'd be interested to know. When it comes to "community property" debts, the only form I know of that is available to you is a Petition for Dissolution/Separation of Marriage.

He gambles from his computer here in California on the Internet.
I'll ask my counselor about this paper.
This Dissolution/Separation option, how do I look at that, is it the same as divorce?
I am a conditional alien resident, within a year we have to file a form to wave the conditional status. How will this influence my situation?
