What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina
I am currently deployed and my wife recently told me that she would like a divorce. We had some minor issues prior to my deployment and even though I have only been overseas for about 5 months we have not lived together in about six months (due to training). The decision to divorce is mutual, however, I do not want to file the paperwork while I am over here so my question is if I get back and it has been over a year since we have lived together does the time I have been deployed count toward the period of being separated for a year or will we need to wait an additional year? I want to move on with my life and she wants to move on with hers.
