My response:

The term "Dissolution of Marriage" is the same as, and interchangeably used instead of, the term "Divorce". These terms mean the same thing, and it all depends upon which State you're filing for divorce. For example, California uses the term "Dissolution" or "Dissolution of Marriage." Only in informal discussion will we use the term "Divorce."
