| | | Disown Parents What is the name of your state? CA
My age: 29
My siblings: 22 and 16
How do I ensure that I and my other two, younger siblings dont get stuck with our parents debt when they die?
I am looking for a law and or a form to file saying that I legally am not attached to them at all.
Thanks. What is the name of your state? |

I still don't understand why you would think their debt would become your debt if they pass on...
None the less...You and your siblings are not responsible for their bills ...ever! So now you don't need to "disown" them... |

There is no estate...Perhaps the children are angry that their parents didn't provide for them properly...But it matters not... if there was an estate then the estate pay the debt...no estate and the creditors have to eat the debt... |

| | | I hate to say this guys but many of the responses here have nothing to do with legality.
Adult children are NEVER responsible for their parent's debt unless they are consigners to the debt.
The parent's estate is responsible, assuming that there is any estate. If not, the creditors are SOL. |

I ask only because they up there in age and do not take care of them selves: drugs, poor eating. Heart problems run deep in my family. |
