What is the name of your state? Ohio
After 23 years of marriage my husband fell in love with a girl almost half his age, so we're trying to get a dissolution.
Since neither one of us can really afford the thousands of dollars it would reportedly take if we decided to use an attorney, we decided to do the paperwork ourself.
We downloaded a complete forms kit for a dissolution with minor children from the internet, read some books from the library, filled everything out and filed last week.
Got a letter in the mail stating that the documents are incomplete, and advising that we get an attorney.
Are there any other options?
Is there any other way to find out what we are missing?
Can we withdraw the filing and try again?
I came across "Ohio Divorce Online" that lets you file all the papers online, but only if you haven't already initiated proceedings. Has anyone used this service?
Alternately there are online sites that have you fill out a questionnaire then send you the filled out paperwork for you to look over and sign. Has anyone used any of those - and with what results?
If we decide to use that service would we need to withdraw our original petition and refile?
Any advice from people that have been in a situation like this would be appreciated
