What is the name of your state? CA

I have a few questions on my mom's behalf.

My mom was married last August but the marriage has been very rocky. She was just served divorce papers yesterday. In it it states that they were seperated in Feburary. However, my mom and her husband have been together all that time and my mom really knew nothing about a divorce. They have been going on vacation together, etc. Can that date in Feb stand in court?

Secondly, she received the papers yesterday and the paper states that the papers were filed May 7. The paper also states that she has 30 days to contest the divorce. Does the 30 days start when she receives the papers or when the divorce was filed.

Also, is she entiled to the money he has earned in that 9 months they were married--he owns his own business?
