Question

divorce

I was married in Lima-Peru in 1980 and moved to The United States right away, with legal green card, my husband was born in San Francisco, California.
In 1995 we filed for divorced, and have been divorced since then.
He got married in 1998 in California, but we never got a divorce in Lima-Peru.
Is this legal?
