What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

I live in North Carolina now. I was married in New Zealand to a kiwi. I am here and she is there. Can I get a divorce in the US or will I have to go back to NZ to get it?

You can get a divorce in the US, but the US court would not have any jurisdiction over property or children that are located in NZ.

And ..have become a legal resident which is usually 6 months, depending on your states laws.
