What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida I just want a copy of my divorce certificate. I was married and divorced in Tallahassee, FL, but they say they have no record of either. I even paid alimony to my ex-wife until she died in 2002. (Court ordered) What can I do?

There is no such thing as a divorce certificate, what you want is a copy of your divorce decree. The court that granted the divorce can supply a copy of the decree, expect to pay a copy fee.
