Divorce with consent or not?

What is the name of your state? Illinois
Can my husband get a Divorce in Illinois without my consent?
How long does a Divorce take if this is so?
Otherwise with consent how long please?

Of course he can. It just may take a little longer. As for your other question, how do you expect us to tell you that when we have no idea of the marital asset division, child custody and/or support issues or whether it will be contested or now and how clogged the court system is?

Possible Divorce?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What is the name of your state? Illinois

Here goe will try to keep short.
My husband US Citizen has just told me last week that he wants out ie a Divorce, I am a UK Lady. He just came out of the blue with it and I have no idea what to do?
We have filed the AOS papers and I have got myself an Alien number and also just got a EAD work authorisation, also receipts for the 1-145 and the 1-130. Where do I go from here and no smart comments please like back home As I would like to think the he will change his mind? but I want to be prepared.
Now I know that he would have to be present with me at the AOS interview in the future? but how long is a piece of string?
If he files for Divorce before the Interview is that the end of the application? because I would not sign a Divorce at this stage even if he wanted me too? or can he Divorce me without my concent or signature.?
I was thinking of going away for a while for him to get his thoughts together before anything dramatic happens
So folks any comments how long can I stay if he pulls the plug?
Anything on the above would help please

**As Kris mentioned, there are many factors that make it impossible to predict how long...

Thankyou very much for your replys.
We sat down and talked today and it was very immotional, but I think it kind of cleared the air, he said that he was just upset and that hated us arguing and when he is mad he says unkind things.
But he loves me and wants it to work you have no idea of the relief I feel.
I guess I jumped the gun a bit but I got scared, and wanted to be prepared.
Thankyou for responding.
