Divorce (of course)

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

After 3 1/2 years of not seeing or speaking to the person I am unfortunately still married to, I finnaly filed divorce papers, on my own without council. Considering the defendant can be a very difficult personality to deal with, I filed for a contested "irretrevable breakdown of marrige" divorce. I did this so I would not have to deal with him personally. Shockingly enough, he signed the papers that I had a constable deliver to him. As he did this without event, I was tossing around the idea of possibly obtaining an "uncontested" divorce, but contacting him to fill out the paper work for this without a legal witness causes me distress. He is a problem maker. Could I draft a letter asking him if he is interested in filling out the seperation agreement and uncontested divorce papers and have it notorized and copied? Would this approach be legal proof in my defence? If I do meet with him to fill out paper work, should I bring a witness with me? Could it be the constable who delivered the papers?
Also, on his paper work that he responded to, he responded that he is asking the court for an annulment. I know it would be highly unlikely for the court to grant that, we don't fit that profile. Now what? Am I now supposed to go to the court house with an answer to that, or should I proceed with my "uncontested divorce" plan?
PS. He has a lot more to lose with a long drawn out divorce than I do and he would be putting his new business at stake, he knows that I am aware of his new business because that is where I had the papers served.
