Divorce DecreeWhat is the name of your state? Virginia I was just online and I went to the web page of the circuit court in Virginia that handled my divorce. I was able to look at my case online, but it was really confusing to me. However, at the end of one section that listed things done, it listed an entry that said "DIVORCE DECREE" as an action. This was listed as being done in March 2004. Does this mean I'm finally divorced? Can I call the circuit court clerk and get a copy of it mailed to me? Also, can this decree be used to get my navy pension equalized in distribution? Currently, because we were just seperated, she has been getting over 2/3 of my pension. I heard somewhere that she is only legally entitled to 1/2. Anyway, my main question is: If it says DIVORCE DECREE in final actions, does that mean I'm divorced? ![]() |

No one can really answer that without seeing what you saw and obviously on the internet it's never too smart to give out too much information. Call the county clerk (you should have a case number) or your attorney if you had one. It should be public record and there may be a charge for a copy and some might even require you do it in person, but those are questions to ask them. They may or may not be able to tell you if the divorce was final but you definately need a copy.
