Divorce Help Please

What is the name of your state? New York
My husband walked out on me for someone else. I cannot afford an attorney. He took all our money and furniture. He left me the bedroom. Now his lawyer calls me and informs me that I have no say in this divorce because my husband says I abandoned him and that I will be served divorce papers and that is the end of it. I have no case because I have no attorney. Isn't there any legal help for women that is free of charge? How can I get help when he took everything? There has to be a way for women who need help to get it.

There has to be a way for women who need help to get it.
