divorce and inheritanceWhat is the name of your state? NJ, CT Both my sister and I are about to receive a significant inheritance. If either of us get divorced in the future, will this inheritance be consider joint property? Should any steps be taken to shield this money? Thanks |

| Don't co-mingle it. Deposit it into a seperate bank or securities account in your name & SS# only. Same with her share. Just don't mix with marital property.
