I'm buying out my husband out of our joint tenancy ownership of our real property, our home. I have not filed for the divorce yet. Will this transaction occurring before our divorce affect the settlement arrangement or can he come back asking for more money if he signs off the property when I give him the amount he requests? I would then be the sole owner as a married woman until my divorce is final. My plans are to file for a divorce soon after I buy him out.
