Divorce taking too long. Help!

My wife left me two and a half years ago, and took my daugter, cutting my communication to both of them. After custody battles, I have my daughter back. My wife has not called or come to visit on her visitation times.

In the meantime I met the most wonderful woman of my life, and I want to get married, be happy and provide my daughter with a real family. I had been told my divorce, which is a default, would go through automatically in July 05.

But now my attorney says the laws have changed in Los Angeles and it will take another 10-12 weeks. The paperwork is just part of an administrative logjam right now in the LA court. My attorney says there's no way to speed it up, but I'm hoping there's some loophole someone knows.

How can I speed up the process so I can get married? (My new potential wife (who has a son) has been waiting for me now for one and a half years, and I can't stand asking her to wait longer! The wait is terrible.)
