I am in NY. I am planning on leaving my husband soon. I know that it would be cheaper to go for "no fault " instead of suing him for a divorce but I believe in NY you must be separated for 1 year before getting a divorce. What I want to know is if my husband can in anyway stop me from getting a legal separation. Does he need to sign something when we begin our separation or can I just file the papers?
