What is the name of your state?My state is Florida. I have been living with my husband for about 6 years, but only a year ago we got officially married. Now, he is having serious psychiatric problems, and I am scared for our lives. We are waiting for the interview in order to get my US permanent residency. Is there any law to protect an immigrant when the spouse, who is a citizen, is abusive and mentally sick? What are the chances for me to get my residence if I divorce him now?
