State of iowa , i have a friend that is trying to get divorced from a person that is in prison, this person is in jail for 69 years for being a internet pedofile, child molester . all the papers have been submitted twice and he has passed the default time limit twice, he has taken no action at all in this matter. we are told that since he's in jail he can't be defaulted, they said he must have legal council but the state doesn't seem to be able to find a lawyer that is interested in representing him. they haven't just appointed one" the right of legal council" they all turn it down, this has gone on for nearly two years now and this woman's whole life is being held up by not being able to get rid of this convicted pervert, my question is where do we turn now ? how can she get divorced from him when no one is willing to represent him, do to what he's done and been convicted of. we are at a brickwall so to speak , how is it that a criminal in prison has more rights than we do as free american's that live and serve our state as normal people do? please help us out on this ,thank you
