As a spouse going through a divorce in the state of Alabama, does having a permanent disability affect divorce allowances in any way? The husand does not want to divorce and he is legally blind. They have been married 25 years.

It can, spousal support is one possible issue and of course if there are any minors.

Any disability retirement and or benefits would be the property of the disabled.
