Does served divorce papers protect assets?

I live in Texas. I have a 20 year marriage and I was wondering , If I file for Divorce and
wait to leave untill the papers are served. Will this protect assets from being destoyed , sold , or given away?

Absolutely prevent it? No. A divorce legally restrains someone from dissipating marital assets, but that doesn't mean that someone with a serious mad on won't do it anyway.
